Innovation to the future, SF is real.

I find innovation very important, because it will change our lives in how we living it nowhere days.

A lot of Science Fiction things where, things we were dreaming of but did not know how to do it.

Science was already aware that the live we are living, could be changed in our benefit. So, that we doesn’t need money to stay alive. Money today is so important, that people will kill for it to stay alive. What if science already could change this to a better world?

Just like the electric car, why is it that it takes a lot of time before we can use it instead of the usual car? They will say “it takes time to develop and implement it” Yeah right. I’m a Project Manager and saw how fast things can be created and implemented.

We can do things different and better, that shows companies like Microsoft. Don’t get me wrong, I’m Microsoft minded because my job is Project Manager or Technical Consultant in IT. So I’m bound to IT and the innovations in IT. At this moment there is no other company what has put a lot of money in innovations like Microsoft did. Will Microsoft will be our ‘Sky NET’? What I know there must be a leading person/company who has ideas no one else was thinking about. Like Newton, Pythagoras, Einstein, Bell and many others. What is Bill Gates, Steve Balmer, Steve Jobs and others, different than the old day inventors or better ‘Innovators’? What an Innovator needs is Vision, and for that all these persons and others I did not mention, they have a Vision to change the way we are doing things. Just like ‘IT’ is. IT is changing/automates the things we do every day, for the whole year or even for the rest of our lives.

Let’s take a look at innovation according to Microsoft.

This was posted in 2009 and has a future for 2019

Quote: Microsoft decides to imagine the future, it never fails to impress. Not only do you have some of the smartest people envisioning what’s possible….Those with a keen eye and a good memory might recognize a few familiar concepts in this video already shown in earlier videos of the envisioning series, for example the future of personal health, having said that, I believe there’s still a couple of new never-before-seen concepts sliced.

I want to take a look, how science can enhance our ways of doing things. Microsoft KINECT opens new ways in Health Care and our use of Digital Systems.

Kinect used to diagnose depression with 90 percent accuracy

simsensei-590x337

Stefan Scherer and a team of computer scientists, working out of the University of Southern California Institute for Creative Technologies, have created SimSensei and MultiSense to assess a patient’s psychological state without need of a real person.

SimSensei is a virtual psychologist that appears on-screen and asks the patient numerous questions about how they feel. While that is going on the Kinect sensor is trained on the patient’s face.

The face tracking software Kinect uses in conjunction with SimSensei is called MultiSense. It is able to track and analyze “facial expressions, body posture, acoustic features, linguistic patterns, and higher-level behavior descriptors” all in real time using computer vision algorithms. If you fidget or your attention wanders, MultiSense knows and records your behavior as such based on your reactions and its programmed knowledge of psychology.

Combining the two systems, it’s possible to detect psychological distress by analyzing the data collected. The accuracy of detecting whether someone is depressed is thought to be as high as 90 percent. Considering the system is completely automated, it holds the promise of being able to assess more patients for treatment in a shorter timeframe, and without needing the presence of a trained healthcare worker. It’s also likely going to save money and be more accurate than the current assessment method that relies on a number of yes/no only questions and no non-verbal behavior monitoring.’

Quote: ‘The USC Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT) is a leader in basic research and advanced technology development of virtual humans who think and behave like real people. ICT brings together experts in clinical psychology, cognitive science, computer vision, speech processing and artificial intelligence. This video shows two interactive technologies recently developed for multimodal perception and healthcare support:

Multisense automatically tracks and analyzes in real-time facial expressions, body posture, acoustic features, linguistic patterns and higher-level behavior descriptors (e.g. attention, fidgeting). From these signals and behaviors, indicators of psychological distress are inferred to inform directly the healthcare provider or the virtual human.

SimSensei is a virtual human platform specifically designed for healthcare support and is based on the 10+ years of expertise at ICT with virtual human research and development. The platform enables an engaging face-to-face interaction where the virtual human automatically reacts to the perceived user state and intent, through its own speech and gestures.

Please note that due to privacy concerns, the people shown in this video are actors. SimSensei is not designed for therapy or medical diagnosis, but is intended as a support tool for clinicians and healthcare providers.

What if we bring this towards classrooms where we teach our children?

Kinect in education: Bring lessons to life with gesture-based learning

Quote: ‘Easy to use and instantly fun, Kinect gets students’ whole body—and attention—into learning fun. Students can use their arms as the hands on a clock to form the correct time, or play a game where they read “red” on the screen then vigorously pop all the red balloons. Students can even collaborate on projects using avatars.’

“When I used Kinect in my Algebra class, students began asking questions that went far beyond the curriculum requirements. This was a huge success, as it got students thinking about applying the content in a real-world context.”

Could Your Next Doctor’s Visit Be On The Kinect?

Telemedicine–remote consultation with a doctor through technology–is the way of the future. Live in a rural area? Need to see a specialist? Just beam yourself to a doctor’s office and get a scrip written without leaving your home. Problem is, a video call isn’t always enough: the doctor needs to actually interact with the patient, and not many people have telemedicine infrastructure built into their homes. One thing millions of homes do have, though, is a Kinect, Microsoft’s motion-sensitive Xbox 360 and PC accessory.

In a new study published in the International Journal of Electronic Finance, University of Arkansas at Little Rock professor Janet Bailey and Microsoft’s Bradley Jensen spell out some of the financial pros of using the PC version of Kinect, which came out early last year. Whereas a professional telemedicine machine can cost thousands of dollars, a Kinect, PC, and the right Windows software could be enough for a consultation, or enough to augment the more expensive systems, with a pricetag in the hundreds. Unlike some other systems, a Kinect can also be used in areas with low bandwidth or inconsistent internet connections.

How, exactly, doctors will use the Kinect is an open question, but we’ve already seen some ideas. A University of Minnesota team has been using the Kinect to diagnose autism in children, and some hospitals have started using the accessory for imaging in surgery. Microsoft, for its part, has laid out some of the gadget’s benefits: It’s an intuitive device, meaning little to no training is involved; it offers speech and annotation options; and, most importantly, it actually adjusts to movements, putting a doctor in a room instead of turning him or her into a medical talking head.’

What about when we use the new ‘KINECT’ from XBox ONE?

Quote: “The smarter, more sophisticated sensor can process a whopping 2GB of data per second and track up to six skeletons at once. Microsoft’s much-hyped Time-of-Flight technology also measures the time it takes photons to rebound off of a person or object.”
The KINECT can read Heart beat and Skeletons. Doctors and Health care are lining up to use this in Diagnose what is wrong with a patience. They can pin point directly some issues in patience.

What do you think about, Voice Command and Move commands, instead of using keyboards or mouse. Finally, we getting somewhere, in raising the level of live with Technology. We already have it for a long time, but now we getting somewhere, it’s no SF anymore. The days of Star Trek are coming. We already have the Data pad (Tablets), we are working on the Replicator (3D Printing), voice command and cameras (KINECT) are here, the days of pushing a button or keyboard are over. Voice recognition software is already for years in our midst. We don’t need to type something in but it’s still software you need to load first. When it’s getting integrated in our OS, that’s a different story.

What about the Google Glass, what about 4K? Technology what will change the future.

Why do we not use science to make our live a little bit better?

E3 2013 ‘Entertainment 3’

E3 2013 kicked off yesterday 10th June 2013.

I’m reviewing again the Microsoft side; in the future I will follow also Nintendo & Sony.

Microsoft started off with the new ‘Metal Gear Solid’ game for the XBox ONE

It looked amazing; we can aspect new things and amazing graphics with the Next Gen Game Consoles.

They also announced that the XBox ONE is not the replacement for the XBox 360. No not at all, they have been redesigning the XBox 360.

Xbox360E

Microsoft also re-affirmed their long-term commitment to Xbox 360, showing off an entirely new design and details about a huge variety of new Xbox 360 titles slated for release within the next 12 months along with incredible special offers and free content. The style of the Xbox 360 looks like the Xbox ONE. We don’t know yet if the Xbox 360 will be upgraded with the new Processor (the 8 core processor)

What we thought that the Xbox ONE would replace the XBox 360, is not the case at all. They added The XBox ONE as a New Entertainment product to their hardware; this will be a great DUO. They opened the New and Next Generation of Entertainment with the XBox ONE. You can choose now between the XBox 360 and the XBox ONE. They could not lose the XBox 360 gamer at this point. Microsoft sold more than 76 million consoles worldwide. Along with the new appearance with a sleek and stylish design that aligns with the new Xbox One family. Microsoft also announced New games for Xbox 360, including the latest installment of one of the world’s most popular action games, “World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition,” a new exclusive Kinect title, “Max: The Curse of Brotherhood” and a free-to-download third-person action-role-playing game (RPG) “Ascend: Hand of Kul.”

“Xbox 360 offers unrivaled value – with more great games, an Xbox Live community with 48 million members, and a compelling line-up of apps, sports, movies, TV and music,” Microsoft said “We’ve taken all we have learned these past eight years and engineered a new Xbox 360 console that is elegant and accessible to anyone.”

As a gesture of thanks to the millions of Xbox fans around the world for their passion and loyalty, Xbox announced that every Xbox Live Gold subscriber will receive two free Xbox 360 games per month until the release of Xbox One, starting with a pair of popular titles: “Halo 3” and “Assassin’s Creed II.” And to celebrate E3 in the month of June, Xbox Live Gold members will receive a free download of “Fable III.”
And there’s more – to add to the current 4,500 Xbox 360 titles, this year’s biggest blockbuster franchises will come to Xbox 360, including “Call of Duty®: Ghosts,” “Grand Theft Auto V,” “Battlefield 4™,” “Madden NFL 25,”  “Assassin’s Creed® IV: Black Flag,” “Watch Dogs™,” “Batman: Arkham Origins” and “Fable Anniversary.”

The redesigned Xbox 360 is available in the same value-packed editions for the same great prices as the existing console – $199.99 US estimated retail price (ERP) for the 4 GB console, $299.99 US ERP for the 250 GB edition and $299.99 US ERP for the 4 GB Kinect Bundle. Shipping today to retailers across the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia and Ireland, the new Xbox 360 will continue to roll out across all Xbox regions over the coming months. Go towww.xbox.com to order yours.

Microsoft showed also especially for the Gamers, the New Games that will be launched for the XBox ONE.

One of my favorites: Halo 5 and Titan Fall.

HALO 5

TITAN FALL

These Games shows us the new way of playing, even with the other new Games like Dead Rising 3, the Witcher, Crimson Dragon, Mine craft, Killer Instinct, Forza 5, Metal Gear Solid, Battlefield 4 the Graphics and game plays are amazing. You even use your Mobile Windows Phone with Looking glass as an extension to your Game.

XBox ONE

21th of May 2013

MicroSoft launched the ‘XBox ONE’, in 2011 with ‘Kinect’ they started the revolution in Home Entertainment. Through the ‘Kinect’ XBox 360 changed, from a Game Console in a Media System. Nowhere days I use my XBox 360 to connect with my Network, and stream Video’s/Music/You-tube films and so on. Until now a lot of Apps find their way to the XBox Live platform, unfortunately not available every where in the World. In 2011 I already showed that in the USA XBox Live platform is huge. Watching TV is completely  integrated in ‘XBox ONE’

Memristor (Memory Resistor)

Overgenomen http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memristor

The Future is around

Hi, I’ve been following the changes what are made to the X-box live and also to the upcoming Windows phones and the Windows 7 & 8 Releases. It will going towards Entertainment at your fingertips and across Different platforms from Phone towards PC & Tablets and Game consoles. It’s really trilled to follow this all. The only thing is that it will again be a Major platform and that the risks are only getting higher and greater in terms of Security. A good thing is that Microsoft is in OS & Security. For competition there would at this moment be none. Proberly the others will follow we need to see how fast they can implement this, where Microsoft has been dealing a lot of issues with the OS in the years. We are looking forward what is coming, it will be more an issue of how people login on. Think they will implement the chip or Irish scan or fingerprint scanning, especially because there will be money involved and to do this the right way, they already been testing these things. It would be for our benefits to have a secure network or services where we can log in to.. I will discuss these things later on.
